AFAIK 20k to 25k per year is condisered average.
The official trade in average is 20 000 km per year with a leeway of about 10 000 at the top end....if a car is averaging more than that, it is classified as a high mileage unit and the dealers drop their offers accordingly.
Currently, I am doing about 8000 km a month which will translate into 96000 per year, which is fairly scary when thinking of what a dealer might say!!![]()
I do roughly 350km/week. Which works out to... 350*52= 18200kms per year.

I know guys who rack up about 20 -30k km's a month!
I think I'll have a similar mileage as you when I buy my 1st car in december.
Is a car's condition directly proportional to it's mileage? Meaning if one's car has a few kilometers, does it mean that chances are that the condition of the car will be be good, assuming ofcourse that the car spends it's time on tared roads and has never been in an accident.
And why don't we call it kilometerage (KILOMETER"AGE") instead of mileage (MILE"AGE")?![]()
I got a 2005 car with 26 000km in May last year. While it didnt have the new car smell it didn't have any dings or nicks which one might expect on a 4 year old car and the inside is and still is unblemished.
That sort of buy is virtually unheard of!!Brilliant to find a car that's only done under 10 000/year...better leave it with me for a couple of months to get a more realistic mileage on it!
