AVG free not updating?

Hi guys,hope someone can help me. I'm capped now and cant update avg free. Is there a local site where i can manually update avg perhaps?

Get rid of AVG and get Avira. But no, I don't know of any local servers :-/

Used AVG for 3 years no problems. But last version is a nuisance. Is AVIRA better and a free version? Can avira update when capped?

I dont think any anti virus can update when you are capped. Capped = no internent.

If you are looking for a free, very good anti virus, I would suggest AVAST.

Buy a webafrica prepaid account (R70) and just use it to download your updates. The account shouldn't expire and is always handy to have

Avira is actually rated tops amongst many but I'm not sure if you can use your local to update it. Your other alternative is to get ESET NOD32. It's not free but it's good.

avg free oh no, when we want to protect our selves and the information on the computer why use some thing free buy some thing.

www.escan.co.za or www.lantic.net and get e scan for R25 rand a month.
www.avast.com get home package.
www.google.co.za there are so many options aviable don't use free stuff.

I'm caped on my Telkom account but I use Route Sentry.

Two connections: Webafrica and my Telkom account. When I try to update my AVG, it connects to the avg server through the WA account and downloads the update through the local account. If I just have my local only account connected (with no international) it doesn't work.

seems to be an AVG issue. It's able to recognise that there are updates available, but unable to download them.

I'm a big AVG fanboy!

Thanx for all the advice u guys!! But i think i will stay with AVG free, it never let me down in the past and i sometimes double check with trend micro housecall online just to be sure. Had bad luck with norton and pc cillin in the past and avg came out tops since using it for the last couple of years.

No more spybot sd, spyware blaster,or microsoft spyware scanner needed since using avg.Double checked a couple of times and AVG never let me down so far.

A friend offered me NOD32 with a legal company s/n, but im not interested since avg is totally legal and free! Don't want police knocking on my door in a few months One more day to wait for my 3 gigs, and AVG will update again..

Capped is so boring that if i do get a virus on local it would be a boring virus, and easy to remove after updating AVG
