AVI to MP4 converter???

I am specifically looking for a decent AVi to Mpeg 4 converter. Want to actually use my iPod for its intended means and not just for music, but now need a decent converter. A freeware or shareware product would be ideal as i don't feel the need to pay for the software.

Please help!

Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate or ImTOO MPEG Encoder Ultimate - they are both the same underlying program - I use either for all my iPod video conversions - fast work great and good quality...
