Also HandBrake ..and if you've got a CUDA-enabled nVidia GPU, give Badaboom a whirl - the try-before-buy will do 30 transcodes before demanding cash.

I've watched it transcode .flv to everything-at-max .m4v at ~40fps on a very modest CPU box that has an 8800GT in it. And it chows .vob at the same speed.

I'm pretty sure you are looking for some software. But you won't find any in the hardware section.

Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate is very good.

I use format Factory. Works gr8 for me.

At least it sound like hardware.
