Had a similar experience with CellC applied for data contract a week ago. Rep that did the contract only explained after initiating the contract that they had no stock.

Waited a week for stock no one contacted me so I picked up all my documentation at the CellC shop yesterday and applied for a contract at the 8ta shop across from CellC and after 2 hours I was up connected and so far so good...

CellC service still suck!

I'm roaming on Vodacom. But it's edge only.

Will try the GSM only thing.

I'm stuck on Edge when I'm in GSM only mode. It's quite useless for browsing the web or any data intensive missions but it's definitely stable (so far) and WhatsApp messages & emails come through when they're supposed to.

I bought myself out of my CellC contract 6 months into it because of the data issues. Went back to MTN (on prepaid) with my foot in my mouth. I travel overseas quite often, and the beauty of MTN prepaid is that there's no issues sorting out international roaming. It's automatic. Land in another country, and my phone picks up the local networks without a problem.

I keep checking back here to see if anything's improved, but looking at posts from the time I started having issues, I can see nothing has improved. It costs me more to be with MTN, but at least I don't have any problems.

If I could afford to, I would start my own cellular network. One that worked... until then, your statement is true.

Mines works perfectly, never had any issues in the past few years.
Upgrading my data package to 10gb tomorrow.

I also find MTN to be the most stable, if expensive. Their data prices dropped yesterday so that's a good thing. I gave away 2gigs of cellc data and 1gig of 8ta data because of no throughput after 6:00pm.

I moved from MTN because I had endless data throughput issues at work.

As an update, I'm getting some good responses from Cell_C - thank you. Some faith is being restored :)

Further update: All my contract related issues are being handled nicely - thanks again!

I'm happy again. Not happy with the Sandton Data issue but the networks team at work have given me access to an unrestricted wifi, so it's less of a trainsmash.
