For those of you that work with PBX systems like Asterix

http://www.e164.org/

ENUM is short for Electronic Number or E-Number. It works something like DNS, any ordinary telephone number can be registered into the e164.org registry as a ENUM with an internet address: For example: 27216575188 is linked to dial the VoIP address "eax6/[email protected]/27216575188". Now dialing
0216575188 from any ordinary phone would reach me as normal, but anyone dialing 0216575188 from an ENUM enabled PBX would automatically be connected via VoIP, and avoid any Telkom charges, as the ENUM PBX would resolve my number to the VoIP address and dial that before attempting to dial via Telkom lines

For more info check out www.e164.org

If enough PBX users impliment this. A lot of companies could save a lot of money.
