So I just downloaded AVPlayerHD for the iPad2. I'm trying to copy some video files from my laptop to the iPad using iTunes. I did exactly what I was supposed to - Click on the iPad device on the left in iTunes -> click on the Apps tab -> scroll down to where AVPlayerHD is and drag and drop the files there. Except, this doesn't work. I try to copy the files and then when I open AVPlayerHD, there are no files there. I've tried so many times and it doesn't work. Am I missing something?

what format were the files?

did it look like this?

When you add files there it should show they are transferring at the top of the iTunes window in the status bar area.

I just checked now. In iTunes it shows that it is copying the file but when I open the media explorer in AVPlayerHD, it's not there

It looks exactly like that, except the files don't show under Documents for AVPlayerHD, yet it shows that it copied at the top status bar in iTunes.

EDIT: It was an AVI file.

Not sure if it matters, but it's still running on iOS 4.3.something. I just rebooted it now and it's still not there.

and you have enough space on the iPad? try transfer one app at a time.

also uninstall the app, reboot ipad, install latest version from app store, and try again.

also cant hurt rebooting the pc

It's brand new. There are no files on there. I only wanted to copy the one AVI file. I just installed it earlier. It's the latest version. I think I'm gonna install iOS 5.0.1 later and then try again. Thanks for the help :)
