Is it worth it though?

For a starter system it's quite decent. You getting Yamaha quality. I sold a set of Yamaha NSP40 speakers which was brand new and the guy that bought it was very impressed with the sound quality, even though the speakers are small.

The receiver might not have all the bells and whistles but you getting good quality sound with a decent set of features.

If you buy separates, it will cost around R11k by my estimates.

For the record, that deal looked good, but I didn't really want to buy it, was just pointing out (again) the baffling lack of links to the actual specials in these articles.
