I have a hybrid system running at my please, I have an Mercer (Axpert King) 5000w Inverter, 2 Pylon US2000C 2.4kWh Batteries, and 9 Solar panels giving me 3000W. Been running +- 3 years now.

So this weekend the inverter started restarting. It's giving an F09 error and I'm not getting any electricity to my appliances.
I whatsapped a guy who works on this and he told me that's most probably the inverter that k@ked. But he cannot help me as he is out of the province until Jan.

So ja, I tried googling the issue but fcksakes Electricity is not my thing.
So now i will probably have to replace this inverter, I left a message here a few months ago when I also wanted to replace my inverter for "true Hybrid" but decided against it (now I dont have a choice in replacing the inverter).

The 2 inverters that caught my eye are the following ones. So my first question, Will both work in my setup?, And secondly, Which one should I rather get?

LUXPOWER 5.5KW HYBRID INVERTER

6KVA SOFAR HYD6000ES Hybrid Inverter

From what I can gather Luxpower is superior to both the Growatt and Axpert inverters in the same price range. The SOFAR also looks good, but as I understand it can only draw 3000w from either batteries or solar. this might be a problem as I easily use more than 3000w at any stage of the day.
So i'm leaning towards the Luxpower?

Sure a Sunsynk or deye would have been great. But they are at least 10k more expensive and I did not budget for this and it's kinda critical that I get it fixed.

PS.
Once this is done, I will send the Mercer for repairs and sell it to try and recover some funds at least.

The F09 error is a fault on the DC side of the inverter. Whole main board will need to be replaced.

The Luxpower inverters are nice, just that setting up can be a little confusing, had a few installers call for help. The Growatt inverters are decent also and I have quite a bit of requests for the SPF5000es with Wifi and in the same price range as the Luxpower. No come backs or warranty issues thus far on the growatt inverters.

Thank you very much,
So when you say the whole main board will have to be replaced. How much are we looking at?

I'm assuming you sell inverters?, do you install as well? Can you possibly DM me any installers contacts which services Pretoria (If you have).

Do you sell the luxpower?

I originally had a Growatt, But the installer could not get it to communicate correctly with my batteries so he then swapped for an Axpert king. The Growatt interface looked better. On paper the Growatt and Axpert are very similar. The Luxpower looks considerably better.

Im throwing a rock into a bush now, But guessing home insurance won't cover this. This is probably seen as wear and tear.

Its no problem at all.

Yes it will be the complete main board. I had another customer with a king that also cooked, his installer ghosted so I helped out. Depending on what Mecer will charge but you be looking at less than 5K to have it sorted out.

Yes I do supply and install in KZN but I can arrange for a sparky to come out to you in Gauteng. Drop me a PM with your details and I can shoot it through.

So I got the Luxpower SNA, and got a local installer who will be helping me this weekend.

Just a quick one, on the Axpert this was easy, but seems like it's a tad more complicated on the Luxpower.

Here is how I would like it to be set up, can someone maybe tell me which is the correct setting below?

I want PV to power the appliances primarily, If PV is not enough it must take extra power from the Grid. PV should charge the batteries (primarily, but if not enough, Grid to charge batteries)

When loadshedding and Grind is not available. Power to come from PV first, when not enough it should take extra power from the batteries.

This sounds easy enough, but looking at the following, I have no idea which one would be correct?
Im guessing "PV Charge Gridon"?

Below are all the options?

Can you feed back? If not then that's meaningless, but yes, that looks okay but the thing is damn confusing, to me it looks repetitive onthe modes because some modes look like they will achieve the same thing. Just play with the modes and you will soon find out what suits you.

It's refreshing to see people trying out different and less known inverters, it makes for a very decent knowledge base onthe forum, so we'll done @Noob-Noob for having no fear to try new things.
Well it's not that unknown lol, It's very big in the UK as I understand. And I spoke to 2 different installers and both recommended Luxpower.
Even when I went to buy the inverter I asked the sales guy what he would recommend between the Lux, the Growatt or another axpert king as I have been happy with the Axpert (besides for it breaking now after 3 years), And that guy told me the Luxpower without a doubt. According to him it's a brilliant inverter and he gets very little to no comebacks. He also said it's currently their best selling inverter. So I think it's unknown in these parts, But generally a popular inverter.

So it was installed today, so far it's working like a charm. It's so nice being able to log into an app and have so much control from there from anywhere.

As mentioned before, my "Load Select" setup is set for solar firsts, if no sufficient solar available then it should feed/blend from eskom. And then I have 2x 2.4kv lithium pylon tech batteries as backup for when there is loadshedding. Mine works perfectly.

Here are my settings in the app for what it's worth.
