Axxess 10Mbps uncapped

I was thinking of switching from my 4Mbps uncapped line with Web Africa to Axxess 10Mbps uncapped. The main reason being the price. I am really happy with Web Africa but I really want the 10Mbps. Any thoughts?

I'd suggest going with a 4mbps package with Telkom and get the free upgrade to 10mbps coming up. Seems like it will be the cheapest option.

This still speculation or do we have some proof that this is coming and when?

I'm only aware of the entry level upgrade coming, which is 2MB to 4MB.

There is no proof of this happening, apart from CEO's of companies saying they have heard rumours.

But i think this time around Telkom will only be upgrading the 2mbps lines to 4mbps. all other speeds will remain the same.
 
Oh okay. Well I'd still suggest Telkom 10mbps then. You can get a huge discount on the line cost, plus the threshold is about 400GB from what I remember my usage being.
 
Wishful thinking that Telkom will get speeds up. My contract is 4/10 Mbps, at Telkoms request to synchronize with line in Observatory. Never get more then 2 Mbps.
Thinking of going with Bitco? Tried Telkom Mobile LTE , tested ok then collapsed below 1Mbps.
To hell with Telkom !!
 
The thing for me is the price telkom is still much more expensive R999 for 10Mbps uncapped exl line rental and Axxess is R799 exl line rental. So the thing is will I receive good quality internet from Axxess?

Wrong bud, Im on do uncapped premium plus 10meg for 999 and includes line rental

^yup this.

Telkom is very cheap and very good from my experience. If you don't need unshaped, they are the kings of uncapped. Their torrent speeds are decent after hours, as is international bandwidth. Their ping is pretty much better than anyone's (at least in kzn). Also their service is great, because they tend to care more if you have a data package with them and then can't blame your ISP for your awful line ;)

That is the thing I am interested in, the quality of streaming. If the telkom package includes everything then it is a good deal.

I am still deciding but definitely temped. How is Telkom on streaming?

So far not bad. Last two days was bit on the down side. But im currently home streaming and its back to normal.

If the rumors are true, telkom investing in more bandwidth in next few weeks and home accounts will be less shaped or even unshaped for first 200Gb
 
My ping varies from 44ms fastest Jhb to 450ms to Vodafone uk. Upload is the big problem with Telkom.(my isp and line provider) when I can run Download at 2.5 Mbps, upload max 0.20 Mbps. So commands get screwed up and gmail runs in html.

That doesn't seem right. You should get that looked at. When I had Telkom 4mbps on an 8mbps line, I could download near 5mbps and upload at 100+KiB/s
 
Telkom have not been able to give me a reasonable isp/line service since March 2014.
I rely on Vodacom 3 G dongle. I do not believe anything Telkom has to say.
Performance Stats. have been supplied courtesy of Speedtest.net.
Faults have been logged , escalated and constantly I receive a sms that fault has been fixed. Same game played every month. Also advise that my account will be credited__ Never happens.

That's Telkom's fault, not Telkom Internet. Your ADSL experience would be ****ty with any ISP, no matter who they are with a poor line. ADSL lines are a luck game. Some people get good, stable internet -- some do not.

According to Telkom Line is capable of 10 Mbps and tests at +/- 5 Mbps for 2/3 days. Big problem is that irrespective of Download Speed, My Upload Speed cannot go higher then 0.18 Mbps, at that speed commands cannot get through or control Web Sites , GMail has to run in http mode
