AXXESS AUP Change Without NOTICE!

I just phoned Axxess, as my speeds today is horrible. Low and behold, I'm informed that their AUP changed end August and that my "slow" speeds is as a result...WTF!

When I signed up with them there was nothing mentioned about this for 10MB business accounts? Why can ISP's change the rules as they wish? Those planning on moving to Axxess...be warned!!!

Those planning to move to Afrihost AND Axxess be warned.

And if you read the T&C's you will notice a clause that says they can change it without notifying you. This is why you vote with your wallet instead of being loyal to a company, companies screw you over as much as they can.

I have a business account from Web Africa, their 10mb package is only R2 more expensive than Afrihost, streaming and downloading is at full speed 24/7. When I was "affected" (I was stress testing to see how much they throttle), I was surprised since I didn't feel much of a speed decrease. I downloaded so much I filled up my HDD before I could reach the "red, severely affected" bit.

The only slowdowns was when I had something downloading in the background that I wasn't aware and did speed tests and saw my speed affected :o

Try them out. I also hear good things from CrystalWeb, so it's your choice really.

Hope you don't have your DSL line with them as well, because you should never, not even for R200 less, move your DSL to an ISP
 
I won't ever bother with Axxess - good prices but poor bandwidth and throttling/shaping/whatever you call it criteria. Not willing to pay for WA business, had WA home and their star rating system doesnt work for me at all.

I'm on a 4MB line and I've been using a 6mb standard uncapped from MWEB (+- 140GB usage in 30 day rolling before you get throttled - confirmed by MWEB Guy) and it's been great. I average around 120GB in 30 day rolling so works for me. I'm busy trying to hit the cap to see what throttle is like, 140.22GB as of today and not yet throttled, will see tomorrow.

It is NOT a stupid thread...I made it clear that they CHANGED their AUP....read much?
 
Better cancel today then, if you're paying by EFT. Last day in the calendar month to do so.
 
Not being the expert in such matters ... what does the CPA say about such unilateral changes?
 
Also on Axxess 4mb Business, and it sucks.
