Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same issue I am having. My axxess data is disappearing and is not reflecting my true usage. I thought I might have been hacked but I can find no evidence of this. I know tracking true data usage is a tricky business and getting accurate figures is beyond my capabilities. That said, the differences I am experiencing are really large. My setup is as follows:-
3 tp-link lte routers, each router running on separate VLAN's. These VLAN's are on separate addresses to my home network. I have one tp-link access point for Wi-Fi provision, this behind firewall(s) and is on my home network. My router is a mikrotik and I use 3 simple queues to track my data usage on each VLAN(yes, I have turned off 'fasttrack'). My normal usage is about 11Gigs per month. At the beginning of this month 3Gigs was gone in 2-3 days. I smelled a rat and started to investigate. Nothing I can find to explain this high usage. I had 3 axxess sims for my routers and data was depleting too quickly on each one. I bought a vodacom sim and replaced one of the axxess sims. In short, the vodacom account shows a very good likeness to my usage figures whereas the axcess accounts do not. Sorry for the long story but I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this. I'd be grateful for any feedback.
p.s. Axxess sims run through the MTN network.

Since moving over from CellC to Mtn Fixed LTE, I've noticed a huge difference in the amount of data consumed on Mtn compared to CellC and I have not increased or changed the way I use data on my side in any way.

Hi @SHL ,
I am a cynic(I admit it). Are axxess doing this on purpose? Are MTN doing this on purpose? Are the 'counters' not working properly? It sounds as if you are experiencing the same as me but presumably you deal directly with MTN. That fact would make me suspect it is MTN and not axxess the responsible party. Do you by any chance have a means to check your usage figures with MTN's. Axxess have usage data on their web portal. Can you get similar data from MTN? If you have time it would be interesting if you could confirm my findings. I estimate a 50% data loss making MTN an expensive option.
Thanks for your reply
Cheers DH

I'm with Axxess and since their app is not very useful in terms of detailed usage stats, I will try and find an app this evening that can show data usage stats per application. Will post feedback if successful.

An update following data tracking during April. With eskom not interrupting I have been able to track my axxess/mtn usage I believe quite accurately. I started the month with my full data (no rollover) and at the point it was completely used up I recorded a 58% usage compared to the axcess counters(100% depleted) . To put it another way, I have lost 42% of the data I paid for. At the same time I have tracked my vodacom data only account and have recorded zero data loss(it tracks beautifully) . I can only draw the conclusion that axxess/mtn counters are massively inaccurate. I hope anyone else using axxess/mtn data will take note and check to see if you experience the same issue. I will vote with my wallet.

Hi, i am on afrihost LTE but the MTN LTE. I also have been having my data depleting in huge amounts. 100gigs lasts half a month now. MTN LTE is taking our data, where or how, I don't know.
