Ever since I joined Axxess, I can't send email. I've tried smtp.axxess.co.za, but it times out. Because it only points to smtp.saix.net, I tried that, it also times out.

Because I still have my UUNET account, I have to switch the router to use that account and then use smtp.uunet.co.za as my server. Then the mail sends out perfectly.

Why on g0d's name can't I just use my own fcuking mail servers (two of which I own and is working and dedicate to ME)

Hi noone

Can you give us a call at:
041 3740134 (7 days a week)
or
041 3740012 (7 days a week)
or
0843000356 (24 hours/7 days a week)

Thanks francob and Paul (not forgetting Johan) from the Axxess team. They have totally breached my (what I thought I had) anonimity and called me just now.

Just to let you guys know, I did speak to them and they did tell me what to try, but because I usually get home at.... right about now... to test these things, I figured I'd give the forums a try </end ass sucking>

#1 Norton Antivirus Scan Outgoing Mail should be off (mine was off)
#2 If you have Sygate running TURN IT OFF (if you're not going through a firewall already like I am with the Netgear modem I have)

This also solves a very strange uploading problem I've had (which I just noticed has gone away)

Hmmmm.... looks like everything is fine now.

Oh an Axxess people(s) me no like speaky the phone roit? :D And I would forget who I am if I were you guys, there could be reprocustions if you know who no one is. :D

Had similar problems with Outpost Firewall ,sometimes would take about 30 secons for page to load ... Installed the latest ZoneAlarm .... well ..it rebooted my pc everytime I tried to connect to the net ... so I gave it the boot ... running Kerio ...so far so good!!!

Very impressive axxess. Hats off and applause.

That's why we love 'em I suppose ... :)

Email

Thanks Guys... Just remember that we are just a phone call away ;)

Agoraphobia

Ok... someone is going to ask so here it is LOL:
In layman’s terms, Agoraphobia is fear of being outside of the home, or in a crowd and the inability to leave the home even to do something basic like grocery shopping without experiencing panic. Agorophobic people can, sometimes, leave the house or go shopping only with a trusted companion.

I have the same problem... just about leaving pubs :D

I'm 'ISPforumagoraphobic' -

(ie: I experience horror and fear of having my forum name known to an ISP as belonging to Their Customer Mr.X )
As long as my ISP doesnt know my forum name, I'm safe.

Anonymity anonymity anonnimitty :)

(Sentech 'baddie list' + IBurst 'abuser list' trauma flashbacks kicking in)

Yea something like that, I was suprised when he phoned me and said "are you noone from the myadsl forums?"

I spinned it for the first few seconds, "no one from myadsl? wha?" but then gave in... :D

lol they made you!
Nice of them to phone though.

Erm, noone, wasn't the problem simply that UUNet only allows relay access to their SMTP server to people on UUNet ip ranges?

Hence when you dial in with your Axxess account, you'd get "relaying denied" or somet such?

Just my 0.2c.

yep, I suspect the same.

same goes to uunet to saix and many other "providers"

I just changed the smtp from UUNET to AXXESS and it works fine...

Nope, I changed from uunet's smtp to saix smtp when I changed the router's adsl logins. It is definately my firewall (which is really strange) I use Sygate Personal Firewall.

It also seem to make my "upload the first 6% of a file then get stuck" problem dissapear too. To test that theory I tried it on both accounts. Definately my firewall
