Anyone else in DBN/PMB experiencing serious torrent shaping on the uncapped fibre account? I signed up with Axxess a week ago and have not been able to get more than 100KB/s on my 4Mb/s line with uTorrent. Http downloads fly at 450KB/s. I'm very disappointed and am thinking of cancelling:cry:.

Why not make use of news servers? Less issues..... and you don't have to worry about ISP emails regarding illegal content

Huh? News server for torrents?

Sorry, how do I download files using a news server?? Never heard of it before.

torrents can also depend on seeding. from which tracker were you downloading and how many seeders were there for the files you tried?

EDIT: let me be a lot blunter. were you using one of the local torrent services? if so, you are unlikely to see full speed on a torrent on your 4meg line.

Torrents are all on piratebay with at least 500 seeds and leechers. Anyway I've downloaded and installed newsleecher, connected to is and saix news servers, but how the hell do I download?:wtf: I get like a huge number of headers with multiple posts per file???:o Any link to a howto?

Thks in advance

New and popular torrents were flying this weekend, older stuff was crawlling along, but I was still getting near 300 KB/s with them as well. No shaping as far as I could see. The easiest to check is to load a linux iso torrent and see what it does, If it is going at full speed your line should not be shaped.

i was downloading from astra and a torrent at the same time to test. torrent was at 200kB/s and climbing when I killed it.
