Hi as of 8pm Friday 30/09/05 I have not heard anything from Axxess as to what their plans are come Nov 1st.
I did how ever come across their terms and conditions, which can be seen at http://www.axxess.co.za/terms.php
(b) I will rent the service for the contract term as indicated in this order. One month’s written notice of discontinuance is required.

How can I give one month written notice if I do not know what their plans are? 1 Month written notice will mean that I can only cancel my account at the END of Nov.

Axxess have been keeping very quiet as to the Nov 1 issue. Axxess please please let your users know what’s going on.
Your service have been great for the last 4 months that I am using you as my ISP but there have been very good deals advertised on certain treads on myadsl which are making me very eager to jump ship.

I remember axess saying you can quit anytime and they will only charge you pro rata...but I feel you. They should say something - either - yes we're keeping our prices or - sorry guys, its been fun but its over.

They arent gonna win any popularity contests by keeping their heads underwater.

Had the same problem with saol but only because they sent the notice email to a contact address I was not using.

With them you also have a 30 day cancallation notice period, but your account, you can up/downgrade any day. So that is no problem. Just email them and also have a look through the saol.com threat. Similar to this one :-)

ummm think about this guys

1 nov new 30 pricing 1800

you have to give one month notice

bam 1800 outta pocket

nope, that means diddley squat - unless you signed a contract.
No contract, there's nothing binding. Its irrelevent what they may have 'said' to you, or whatever's on their website. If there's no contract, and/or no debit order payment system that they're getting money from you via - then dont even worry about the one month notice thing.

And even if there IS a contract, if their prices should double or triple overnight - you just cancel the debit order, tell your bank, and send the ISP a fax saying 'bye bye effective immediately' - and I doubt they'll want to expend money on legal action to obtain one months worth of massively increased prices. It wont make them look good at all in court, or in the court of public opinion.

most probably not.

guys, as I said have a look through the saol.com threat.

with them it's also 1 month cancellation notive but 24 up/downgrade notice. They don't want to loose you as customers so you won't get any problems. Just wait for the new prices and then change to a 3,5 or whatever account.

so i c it this way they are not gonna tell their customers because they could stand to make alot of cash

i would be a little nervous

but just remember if they charge you dont pay only problem is they might put you on itc and then your in kuk

AFAIK Axxess has always been on the up and up so I would only see this as an inconvenience and not a nefarious plot to take your money. Besides - if you took the time to read the FAQ it says
Axxess FAQ said:
Q) If I signup do I have to give 1 months notice as this service is on a month to month basis?
(A) No, when you cancel, we will cancel the next months Debit Order immediately. Please use the form provided in the Signup page. Please note if you cancel within the last 5 working days of the month. The Debit Order will take place(Banking Rules). In this case we will refund the full amount directly to your account. Unfortunately this will only take place within 7 working days from the beginning of the following month(More Banking Rules). So make sure if you need to cancel that it's on time! A R10.00 processing fee will be charged.
So we're talking at most r10
