axxess lite

Got a 5 Gig account and apart from some of the downtime due to the SEACOM fiasco it runs pretty well.

The catch is that you wont be getting any of their account features that they supply with their other accounts, and it only allows for 1 concurrent location.

Quite frankly these "features" are total crap. POP3 accounts? Geez, is this the nineties? Who uses ISP's pop3 accounts anymore. Also noone except a power user needs 4 or 5 concurrent connections. The global norm is 1 anyway.

do i need to have them as my ISP to gets me some of that action?
Hu?

I have Telkom providing me with my ADSL line and some 10GB local internet access.
I have WebAfrica providing me with some 4GB of online gaming internet.
I have Axxess providing me with 6GB of normal internet usage.
Every month.

Or perhaps I don't understand what you meant.

but doing it that way means i need multiple usernames and passwords. what i am asking in this thread and mine, is if there are any other prepaid vouchers out there that will allow me to get more gigs for my bucks? axxess offers 1gig at R70 prepaid from Pick AND Pay etc...

I thought of joining AXXESS because I like the idea of prepaid, and the rollover, but that seems too expensive at R69/GB.
Just been talking to Paul at their offices and he explained to me that the 3 options; Pro, Family, or Lite ALL provide whatever line speed you have. I have a 384 or 40KBS line, so whether I use Pro, Family or Lite I will still get 40KBS (that's in optimal conditions....AND when Seacom is fixed ;-). So it's a nobrainer to go for the 'Lite' at R19/GB/month. The only negative with 'Lite' is they don't provide email, but just been looking at the Gmail site and they forward mail to your Outlook Express or whatever.
When I heard this I thought WOW!....I'll upgrade to 4096kbps and STILL pay R19/GB data charge. Sounds good.
I'm presently trying to extricate myself from a 'One Price' account at Cybersmart. I've decided I don't like that level of commitment. I should never have combined the Telkom ADSL rental with the ISP data charge :-(

One concurrent connection seems pretty standard.

No problems, and no catch @ R19 per Gb (unshapped) it's a damn sight cheaper than FNB's option! I use it and will punt it!
