Hi

Not sure if this will have to go in the Afrihost Mobile section or not.... but...

Axxess 3G is unsuitable to stream youtube in the evenings. We discovered it when we wanted to view one episode of Road Runner on youtube, but unfortunately it performs worse than dial-up.

We were able to stream something else two weeks ago without any issue at all, so I'm not sure whether there's other issues throttling network throughput or something like that?

If any Axxess rep can throw in their 0.05c of opinion and advice on troubleshooting, then do so :)

Regards

Hi The_Librarian

DTBA has in fact hit the nail on its head. The best would be to test with another MTN SIM in the same device on the same premises, or you can take your device to another area where it would connect to another tower to test there. If you manage to obtain a better connection from the other tower, and/or the same slow speeds on both our SIM, as well as the MTN SIM (at the original location) then our tech team will send you a document to fill out that we will send to the MTN Coverage department who will investigate the matter.

Thank you!

I will do a couple of tests as requested.

Which type of tests would be preferable for this excercise?

Do I have to include a traceroute or not?

Did a bit of a basic check yesterday evening, and found that I fall in between 3G and 2G coverage.

2G coverage = full 5 bars... but 3G is no coverage. I think the closest tower is just too far away to give me a good 3G signal :(

Will see what I can do in this situation (external aerial etc).

Thanks.
