Just got this email from Openweb (this is just the first part):

As you might know by now, we at OpenWeb are forever re-inventing ourselves :)

Today is no different. Introducing two new amazing products available from OpenWeb:

4Mbps After-Hours Uncapped ADSL (256k Office Hours):

* This product allows for 4Mbps after hours internet joy. (Mon to Fri between 19:30 and 08:30 and Fri from 19:30 until Monday at 08:30)
* P2P and torrents allowed
* Totally Uncapped
* The account will run at 256k during office hours.

Price: R1299 per month

As I said that was just the first part, the 2nd was a 3GB one, but this is very similar to Axxess' uncapped fibre express 384kbit. The difference seems slightly higher prices, but longer times for the 4Mbit session, and if you are on the 384kbit from Axxess and doing torrents you will blow your 10 days period quickly knocking you down to 192kbits or so during office hours. So which is better? I think for the R300 more, openweb is better, EXCEPT if you are like me who has a 384 from Axxess, I have noticed the times actually are quiet blurred. I often get good speeds during the so called "office times".

Anyway it is great that both companies are trying hard to do some good on the ADSL front!

Err.... how can uncapped fibre express be a 3GB one???

anyway, Go openweb, better deal. Day time speeds are throttled anyway so you don't loose much during the day anyhow.
