Hi All

Our Axxess DSL account is not authenticating this morning, their phone is constantly engaged. Anyone else getting this problem, or is it just me?

Im cancelling my account. Their phone line stays busy, and they dont reply on emails. This is no way to treat paying customers. If you cant handle the workload, hire more staff. This wont fly at all!

Duh!

If I don't have internet access, how do I know to go to another server?????? Couldn't you communicate this beforehand? Or is this typical South African business attitude?

I had to open an account with another ISP to get onto the internet. I have already cancelled my acc with Axxess Africa, so unnecessary, if they have answered their phone, I could still have been their client

Still nothing

Still no access and no information.

So, is the answer to cancel the account and open a new one with someone else? A fluid market? I suppose I'll have to dig around here to identify a suitable alternative... I feel like such an ADSL slut and I LIKE it ;-)

After trying a few times I got through on the phone line, and was reconnected within 3 minutes. Just keep trying the phone number.

Yay

Yes, once we got them on the phone they did a manual transfer to the new server and after a router 'reboot' we are now back on-line.

Same here. Once you get threw the service was quick and friendly.
Must admit I did forget to pay them for the past 2 months

Well back online again and a bit less money in the bank :o

Their DNS is stuffed, They don't answer the F&^%N phone either..
This is really beginning to piss me off.. HAR!

I'm about to change ISP's now.

Besides, I heard rumour of uncapped local ^_^

What's your problem. I ran out of cap last night. This morning it took me about 3 minutes for their website to come up, but then I logged on, bought another Gig and everything was fine thereafter. And I got to work on time.

The DNS for unshaped bandwidth is acting up to top it off it doesn't help to have access to their website if you can get to your internet banking.
Not everyone uses credit cards.

The 086 numbers are maxi numbers monety! You pay through the roof for 1 minute and on a cellphone its worse! Like R4.20 a minute during peak times!

Just for the other forum members: cavedog is from another ISP. He will do anything in his power to discredit any other ISP in any way possible. R420 per minute? WOW

It's more like +-R0.70/minute and +-R1.00/minute from a Payphone by the way

On investigating I found an article which says 0861 numbers are charged at long distance call rates. So not quite R4.20 but not cheap. 0860 numbers are share call, which is local calls. Not 100% sure of this but I believe 0800 numbers are free.

So yes other 086 numbers that are not 0860 or 0861 can be in the vicinity of R4.20 ;)
