Just need to know if I’m in the wrong...

Basically I took a 10gb Telkom LTE deal with Axxess at the beg of Feb (card charged immediately) to use as a backup for gaming. Sim took over a week to arrive & I was promised that I will have no issues with any unused data as it will carry over (Have it in writing).

Upon using sim I noticed poor speeds (device at home. I followed up with Axxess & advised them. After refreshing on their end I experienced better performance but never got anything > 10mbps.

I complained again & was asked to complete a form (this is a telkom template) to detail my issues. I dutifully completed & submitted the form. Nothing happens. Service still poor. Month ends & no data is carried over. Complain again & now they say no carry over, mistake, etc etc.

I said fine no problem, just credit me for Feb & sort out speed in March. They say that it’s not possible as they have already paid telkom. I said my deal is with you & you failed to provide a service to me so you need to refund/credit me. They insist that’s how it works and refuse to credit/refund me. Isn’t that robbery or am I wrong?

It’s not a large amount of money tbh but as a matter of principle shouldn’t they ensure that they recover any losses on their end for poor service (they have all the info & aren’t disputing that my complaints over poor service are invalid) from their supplier and not be such a bunch of wankers to their customers?

I have had similar issues, but I don't even get 1 Mbps. It basically doesn't work.

On the map it says that my area is supported.

I guess that the only option is to just cancel it.

I have but in true Axxess form it’s only being processed for the end of May.

Telkom has a having issues with latency and speeds over the last few days.

i cancelled as soon as i got it "STAY AWAY"

Telkom is worse than Dish internet, more packet loss , constant DC's.

Dish internet where i live i better for gaming than telkom lines lol, and doubt they will ever upgrade their cables. Cant wait for musk satellite constellation

Bye telkom :)
Internet traffic via a geostationary satellite has a minimum theoretical round-trip latency of at least 477 ms (between user and ground gateway), but in practice, current satellites have latencies of 600 ms or more. Starlink satellites would orbit at 1⁄30 to 1⁄105 of the height of geostationary orbits, and thus offer more practical Earth-to-sat latencies of around 25 to 35 ms, comparable to existing cable and fiber networks.[97] The system will use a peer-to-peer protocol claimed to be "simpler than IPv6", it will also incorporate end-to-end encryption natively.[98] However, no details on this have been released as of yet.

Mine was from inception in Feb and I am a Telkom subscriber on my cell account and have no speed issues with that sim in the same locations.

Hi @JoE, our 10GB Telkom LTE package is the only package that does not roll over and the rest of the packages do. Please PM your account details so I may assist.

PM sent.

Whilst I understand that this is the case, I was promised my data will roll over by your agent and the right thing to have done was simply apply a credit to the account. I wasn’t asking for the money to be returned, just simply carry forward to offset a future month whilst you sort out the issue with Telkom.

I think that is absolute bullcrap.

Firstly i have been seeing your Axxess deals all over Mybb page. And i actually was contemplating taking out the 10+10gig package for my daughters tablet.
But it doesnt roll over.. Retarded honestly.

@JoE try go direct with Telkom. Honestly i have had no issues with my 80+80 package, speeds arent the best but i can stream on 3 devices well.

Guess ill wait.

The thing is I have my home data for streaming and downloading sorted. I just needed a backup service that I could switch over to so that my gaming sessions aren’t compromised. The 10gb package was meant as a trial in the hope of moving over to a better deal if successful. I guess it wasn’t. I’ve been dealing with Axxess for the better part of the past decade so just made sense to keep that relationship going.

Telkom has a having issues with latency and speeds over the last few days.

Telkom and other ISPs that use them for transit rely heavily on WACS. IF WACS is dead internet on Telkom is trash.

Also for the rest in the thread you need to use the correct hardware to get the best speeds. You need an LTE-A router that can do Band 40 aggregation and b1+b3 aggregation for the best speeds. If you use something like a B315 then yeah speeds might not be the best. You would need to switch bands for the best performance.

you guys do know that the network is messed up because of the wacs cable break?

My issue stems prior to the break as mentioned above. Also, my LTE on my phone (also Telkom) does not have the same issue.

I am using a B315. Will PM you for tips.

I may be wrong here, but as I have it, law now forces data to be carried over. You paid for it, you should be able to keep it. Also, if the agent told him it rolls over, it should roll over. Period.

What phone are you using?

Lol. I hope so. I’m not even holding them to that. Just feel that a service was not rendered in Feb (I managed to use it in Mar at the <10mbps speed) so they should’ve just done the right thing and credit instead of having the agent(s) constantly dismiss me.

AVOID for your own sanity!! Terrible both in terms of speed and customer service.

Averaged around 1.5mbps with 3 digit latency. Unusable!

I’ve switched over to an MTN deal over the past 6 months and it’s been perfect. Easy recommend for me.
