I had an axxess account maybe 2 or 3 years ago, and as far as I can recall the only email I ever got from them, while I actually had an axxess account, was usage statistics and reminders.
I can't remember when it started, probably more than a year ago when I had almost forgotten I ever had an axxess account, I get these axxess newsletters and other crap, that I'm really not that interested in. Everytime I get it I click unsubscribe, but even that gets extremely tiresome after the 20th unsubscription process. Sometimes they reckon 1 email will just not do, and then I get 3 of exactly the same emails from axxess.
So then one day I decided to hell with this, and I phone them. "What's your email address ? Ok we will unsubscribe you". I've made that phone call to axxess 3 times now, and last week I think it was, I get another batch of 3 duplicate emails from axxess.
So it just made me wonder, is it like physically possible to not get those emails anymore ? Does the server/program sending the email have the capability to remove an address from the mailing list ?
One thing I know for sure is that the unsubscribe link in the emails will probably just get you another subscription to the mail you are trying to get rid of. The last thing it would do is to actually unsubscribe you.
Can one report this kind of thing to somebody ?
