Axxess Streaming speed

Has anyone managed to get a proper streaming speed with Axxess? I have a 4 Mbps capped package, but only manage to stream at 1.89 Mbps. Speedtest on any other device shows a 3.8 Mbps speed. I thought I was being throttled on an uncapped package, but the speed did not improve when switching to a capped package.

Secondly, will it even help to get a 8 or 10 Mbps line?

Thanks

Firstly, where are you streaming from? Secondly, streaming doesn't necessarily use all your available bandwidth.

I am trying to get proper quality streaming directly from my Samsung smart TV. Currently experiencing poor quality using the app though. I then tried the PS4 Netflix app, which is where I get the 1.8 Mbps at 720p quality, which looks ok. The best quality by far is when I stream through the Apple TV (I do not know how to check the speed though).

My issue is that I would like to use the Smart TV app, to free up the HDMI 1 port for HDR on the PS4. Currently I have to switch HDMI 1 cable between the PS4 and Apple TV, which is annoying. I Would also like to try and stream 4k Netflix, as my TV is a UHD model.

Streaming like a boss, HD/1080i simultaneously on 3 devices. Not on 4mbps. Even Netflix/Hulu will tell you to go take a hike on 4.

If you want a stable stream i would reccomend 20Mbps VDSL. If you don't have fibre like most of us here. VDSL is a must imo. If u are more than 3 ppl. Although it depends how far you are from exchange. And what fits your pocket. I prefer capped. Everything works better on capped. Just my two cents.

Yeah, 4mbps isn't enough for consistent streaming anything more than 720p if you are an single user. And you'll need way faster for 4k.

4k on youtube uses about 15 - 18mbps alone.

We have a 40mbps line for two people. The price isn't that much higher than a 20mbps. 1080p streams with download and or gaming no problem.

Logged a call to Axxess, reset port and I reset my router. Looks like the capped package is only now activated, as on the PS4 I now get a Netflix streaming speed of 2.8 Mbps @ 1080i resolution. Even the Smart TV Netflix is now streaming HD quality, so I am happy!

2Mb line is fine for Netfix 720p, but don't expect to even browse from any other device.
4Mb line, fine for 1080 youtube, not sure about Netfix though

Unfortunately it's for this reason that I recently cancelled my service with Axxess and migrated my entire package over to the new Telkom Unlimited Home bundle. Although only at 4Mbps ADSL, we constantly attain speeds of 3.85 Mbps over wireless and thus we're streaming at 720p (and on occasion 1080p) via the Chromecast with Telkom's service. If you're watching one user at a time and don't mind 720p, I can honestly say 4Mbps is just fine.

When I was with Telkom on their 4Mbps uncapped packaged, I got between 3.6 and 3.9 Mbps. My data is currently with Axxess and I'm getting between 2.6 - 3.4 Mbps.
