Axxess Uncapped Express+ not working

This grates me to no end when I'm paying a premium for SAT3/SAFE bandwidth and I'm getting affected by SEACOM maintenance.

According to Axxess' website:
The Uncapped Express+ ADSL accounts international bandwidth is supplied via Fibre optic links on the undersea SAT3 cable and not via Satellite.

So I fired of a support ticket asking when their product offering changed without informing me and got told their GM will need to respond.
 
So who is using the R899 account? Cause it is suppose to be via Satellite and you should not be disrupted then......

If There are no international on both why do Fibre people pay R100 more if both use the same undersea Fibre cable.
 
It wouldn't surprise me if IS was using their SAT3/SAFE bandwidth to keep their SEACOM services happy during the maintenance. The same would go for the satellite bandwidth.

Anyone that can confirm this?
 
According to Seacom the maintenance is NOT over, it could be another 6 hours to 3 days. And thats besides the point of this post - why is a SAT3 service being affected by Seacom issues.
 
i'm with axxess express and still can't connect - using my vodacom 3G at the moment, unhappy about this !
 
Yeah I've had to switch to a trusted WebAfrica with SAIX upstream SAT3/SAFE account at the office thanks to Axxess/IS not routing the correct bandwidth for the Express/Express+ accounts.
 
Ok an update. Just manged to finally get Axxess on the phone and according to them both the SAT3 and Seacom services are down. I'm unaware of any SAT3 failures right now so I think IS is selling them a load of hogwash. Anyone know anything more?
 
Ok just got off the phone with Axxess' General Manager. Their Express+ accounts were supposed to be via IS on the SAT3/SAFE cable. However IS have changed all consumer ADSL product offerings to use the cheaper and less-redundant Seacom cable system. I don't recall any communication from Axxess in this regard as I would most certainly have re-assessed my service offerings.

Apparently the Express (satellite) offering might also be affected as it seems it was moved over to the Seacom cable as well - this is unconfirmed as Axxess weren't sure of it either.
 
So hard to choose which thread to post in, but just thought I'd drop a msg here to say that my Uncapped Express+ is finally working again.

About 28 hours of downtime. If this was any other country, we would expect nothing less than a refund.
 
It might be short-lived. Apparently IS were going to push some of the traffic out of the SAT3 cable after business hours to try and relieve the issue. But its a temporary solution.
