Good day all, is it possible to have the Huawei B618 router act as a media server when one has attached say a USB/external to it?

I have gone through the settings and managed to set up the external which is plugged in directly to the router and I can view the folder structure on my laptop. Enabled samba as well as DLNA.

However how do I have say a mobile device see this folder and perhaps view the pictures on it. I do not need the router accessible from outside. Just the family members to be able to view the files/images on the drive.

I have managed to get one device to access the files but it seems to work through my laptop.

Its as if the other devices see my laptop then they access the shared files through that.

Needless to say I am a noob when it comes to networking and have only gotten this far as I like tinkering with tech.

ideal setup would be to use plex/emby to show the files on the drive without needing internet so just locally "local network". And to do this from an android tv media box as well.
