Hi peeps, I have a B618S-65D but I can't seem to use the bandtool 2600 TDD network for rain, is this the correct band? Keep getting this error:

huawei_band_tool --network-mode 03 --network-band 3FFFFFFF --lte-band "+2600|TDD"
[166] error: File: src/main.cpp Line: 1245 Function: rapidxml::xml_node<>* web::xmlHttpRequest(const char*, const char*, web::HttpResult&, web::HttpOpts&): Setting network mode: Setting net mode failed
[168] info: See http://192.168.8.1/api/net/net-mode-list for a list of supported bands. Log in first.
[168] info: Check debug.log to see what's going on

The b618s-65d does not support Rain 2500MHz band. You need the 22d for that.

The 65d is ideal for Telkom

My word, I misread the forum as the 65D being inclusive of both signals.... So what router is recommended for both Telkom capped and switching to Rain uncapped? I have no idea if the Rain connection on my side is even ok yet since I only get 3Mbps on 1800 signal so it might not even be worth the effort.

Well if you want a router that will work on every single frequency of every network then the Huawei B525s-65a is the one you are looking for.

You will however sacrifice 4x4 mimo for 2x2 mimo but you saying you getting 3Mbps on 1800MHz mimo did not help you much anyways.

What phone do you have? If you have a Samsung s8 upwards you can see if you get B38. It should show 4G+ when you use the Rain simcard in the phone.

The Huawei B618s-65d is still the best router for Telkom. In fact they are not freely available anymore and so far I have just seen one seller on takealot that sells it new. Telkom no longer sells it which is very strange since Telkom network is 4x4 mimo capable but they choose to rather go with the B525 which is a 2x2 mimo router. Not sure why they stopped selling it but it's by far the best.

I can attest to that. I get 130Mbps using a Telkom sim card in the 65D, but only 30Mbps using Rain.

Which is better for MTN fixed LTE
... either 65 or 22 I presume?
Yeah both will work on all MTN's bands which is 1,3 and 8. Unfortunately only aggregate 2.

Hi ,Which is better for Rain the B525s-65a or B525s-22
I don't think I've ever seen the B525s-22a. If you had to choose the 65a would be ideal as it supports all the networks and all their LTE bands.

Takealot still have a 65D if you need, atm it's really not helping much but that might be due to the KZN outage, barely getting 100Kbps these past few days.

yeah my 525 is working fine for me at the moment, wont be buying another. Thought it would be a win win situation if you were getting one anyways

Just note that the B618S does not have QoS or any way to backup settings or assign fixed IPs on a network, in my mind its a terrible "router" and is only good for speeds... if you even have the potential to get them.
