B683 - losing profile

Recently my B683 router has started loosing it's profile and settings when switched of.

Seems to be fine after setting it up again, till the power goes off.

Is this signs of router going south, or just an irritation?

I've heard a few complaints about this but I've never had one in for repair...

My recommendation is to Factory Reset the device, if I recall there have a button on the rear and holding for 10 seconds should do this for you.

As far as I am aware, Huawei have not released any firmware for this device.

Would this device have a battery, aka BIOS battery on computer, or is this unlikely?

Unlikely, there parameters are usually stored in EEPROM and (in theory) non-volatile...

Computers usually only have a battery primarily for running the CMOS clock.

Well you can try doing the firmware . According to other forumites this works

On mine the download keeps freezing up , maybe you have better luck , please keep me posted

hmmmm , I have finally come so far as to try dl'ing a downloading manager . Seems to work so far , busy dl'ing the file now through FDM ( Free download manager ) cause the server keeps disconnecting the download but fortunately it supports resume . Give it a shot .... maybe ??

ok . Flashed mine and have been testing it and playing around with the settings ( still has pretty much the same settings except ddns ) and so far so good
Interface looks a bit cleaner

Well mine is now on UPS and is behaving ... , so I will hold of for now, on flashing it ...

Have my B683(MTN) around 4 months now and its been pretty stable. I think i've had to power on/off once a month.
