I have started walking for exercise, because I'm fat and unfit. I have enough energy to do 2-3 times the distance I am currently doing, but after about 1km of walking my lower back starts to spasm heavily and I can barely walk, so I finish the block in pain(1 lap is about 850m, so this is the second time round).
Obviously I want to do more, but the back spasms alone are killing me. If I go sit down, it steadily goes away and in 30 minutes I can move again with no trouble at all.
Has anyone ever encountered this, and found a way to minimise the pain, especially in the initial phases of walking? This is the second week. I am really motivated to do more, and as mentioned, I have enough energy for more, but these spasms are holding me back.
