Back to Samsung 22" wide

Hey icko also looking at that screen! Love the glossy surface.O yes it is basically a 226bw with a glossy screen and slightly different body.Saw them at rage this year and they looked really nice!!
 
Why make an LCD glossy, i thought the point was that they don't reflect sunlight...
 
I'm sure it works out fine, they would have thoght that through. Almost the whole new range are glossy.

So btw, the one I'm interested in is the new cheaper version of the 226BW, I think it was the 226CW. In the link the only change it lists is that the response time goes up to 5ms, would it still be worth while, or is 2ms preferable? (I've never even owned a LCD :eek:)
 
I prefer glossy screens ... picture seems brighter/sharper although it may just be an illusion. The screen will only really reflect if placed opposite a window with direct sunlight. In any case, if the glossiness is anything along the same lines as the glossiness on the Samsung Tulip TV's ... reflection is a minimal problem.

All depends if you play games or not - 2ms is better if you do.

Tomorrow I shall be buying a 226BW for R2600 from www.zones.co.za here in Durban :D
I just hope its an S-panel
 
Your likely not to be able to see too much...except maybe for a blue overtone and backlight bleed if you put on a black background. Im waiting for the new one with the glossy screen. Can't wait!
 
well, personally i prefer the matt versions, but i have noticed the manufacturers' trend of moving to the glossy screens.
most likely by the time i actually buy this (towards end Nov) the 226BW wont even be in production anymore (if it still is).
has anyone seen this new 2232GW model in a shop on display somewhere? would like to have a closer inspection...
 
I saw it at Rage, its an awesome screen. I've just got a customer who ordered one from me already.

? In most places the 226bw is priced above the 2232gw. I know you can get it cheaper but glossy is just a preference and not a superiority thing.
I also prefer glossy but the only difference betw the 226bw and the 2232gw is it's glossiness. To be honest the 2232gw actually has a crappier stand then the 226bw as it doesnt rotate at all.
 
Errr, wasn't there one new feature, something about MagicBright in the glossy screen that made it super bright?

Either way it is the same screen and a little cheaper atm, I like the new styling nevermind the glossy-ness.

yes and magic bright is just incredible

plus the monitor was made for windows vista, something about the fonts looking better

i never saw the 226bw but im using the new one and its just amazing
 
Wooohooo... 1st time Lcd owner.

Just got myself 2232GW can't wait to plug it in!
