Okay, guild has recently aquired more healers but we stuck with 2 tanks ...
So having been a tankadin most of my characters life up till mid 60s, I am returning to tanking.
Last night I tanked Dark portal instance in caverns of time, we got to 11/18 portals then it just became to fast , i couldnt get mana back quick enough.
I need help . First of all , I need gear. Having not collected any tanking armour as holy paladin I need to catch up a lot. I am basically stuck on greens and a couple of blues here and there.
Look at it this way , lets just say i need to colect tanking gear from scartch for lvl 70.
So basicaly it comes down to , what instances do i need to run for intro 70 gear. At this stage i dont think I can run the instances like Alkatraz etc on current gear without looking like a total nooblet.
I just generally just need a guide/tips on how to be a good tank at level 70+ instances.

I'd say start off with Hellfire Citadel or Reservoir then Auchin or CoT and finally Tempest Keep. What I did though, is run all instances with guildies as holy and if tank doesn't need item for prot, I ask if I can need it for my prot set. 90% of the time they are happy with it.

When you're running instances for rep with PUG's and you'll do them quite a lot, don't be afraid to ask, but don't nag. I also make it clear is that I'm gathering prot gear and if a prot item drops and no one else needs it I'll need it and pass the rest. This indicates that you're not greedy or anything. I got this from Mech Heroic: The Sun Eater as holy spec. So just be nice, don't be greedy and you'll collect your prot gear even as holy.

trying to get my armoury profile up so you can see gear that i have and talents and give me some pointers.
Betrayed , Aman`thul realm.
Its a german realm.

Another thing, i have dropped some talents into retri for pvp purposes. Then also does reckoning stack onto seal of command?

I have Felsteel armor set, boots from q in SL (grandmaster vorpil), bracers from soul devices q also in SL. All Blue, best I can afford and/or acquire currently. def at 494, res 19.

I already changed back to prot.
So i wont be running as holy anymore.
The hellfire etc... are you talking about heroics?
Also I have seen wow-loot , i just want something a bit more printer friendly.
I want to print it out and then run specific instance till i have all the items that i want from that instance.

So for example :

Hellfire citadel (heroic)
- sword
Description of sword (drop rate)

- shield
Description of sword (drop rate)

etc.

Please check if you can get onto eu armoury
search
Character : betrayed
realm : aman` thul

check my talents and comment.
also if you have tried tested tank spec, post a link so can see .

This may be helpful since it lists all the available gear options including some crafted items. May I suggest getting the following which will really help and are pretty easy to get.

Oathkeeper's Helm, actually really cheap mats if you can find a crafter
Belt of the Guardian, Bit harder to get since the vortex drops from SSC/TK
Crystalforged Sword, really easy to get and only about 200g at worst on AH
Darkmoon Card: Vengeance, bit of effort to collect but definately worth having

You will also need to balance out your gear depending on what is needed. 90% of the time 200 spelldamage is enough but sometimes you do not need it or you need a little more to gain more agro. For example I use Gavel of Unearthed Secrets when I need to generate loads of threat and Mallet of the Tides for the hard hitters. I still keep my dungeon set handy for AoE tanking/grinding since the set bonus is really useful.

On a side note, never forget that you are a paladin and not a warrior. Too much warrior gear means you are wasting stats and will suffer for it.

Regarding your spec, the extra crit chance is pointless. Really pointless. Instead take Sacred Duty and Spell Warding which will serve you MUCH better.

Something like this is a better idea

I myself like having Guardian's Favor but its not required.

Also, Libram of Repentance should be very high on your shopping list

What should i be aiming for as level 70 intro tank stats wise?
What should stamina be sitting at and how much + stamina should i have combined to get there?
For example I need gear with a combined +?? stamina to get that.
Same for intellect etc.

Can you just post my base stats for me , as im not able to access armoury at the moment.
For example Spell, melee, base and defense stats.

I never looked but is there a printer friendly option to display character as per armoury?

Look in short you need the following to tank Kara/Heroics properly

490 Defense (Without this forget Heroics/Kara. You will just place strain on healing)
12k HP (The more the better though)
6k Mana (Enough to tank most encounters)
200 spelldamage (This puts you about on par with Warrior TPS)

With that talent build (the one you showed me) how much + stamina must my gear add onto my base hp to get 12k?
1 stamina = how much hp?

Okay so I took a look at a couple of guides regarding paladin tank talents here is what i came up with...
Feel free to comment.

I do not agree with the points in holy, you are much better off having a lower mana cost on seals/judgements, 5% parry and shorter cooldown on seals/judgements.

Strength is wasted on prot paladins, look at your prot tier sets. Do they have strength on them at all?

IMP SoR looks great but consider that its only benefiting one seal, the shorter cooldown on your judgements would push you close to the same agro and benefit other things like SoB/JoB for example.

5% parry is godlike, thats 5% chance to not take damage. Its a must have in my opinion.

Divine Int is something you could argue but overall the reduced mana cost on seals/judgements will actually be more efficient than 10% int since you won't be stacking much int in the first place.

Better option?

yah that's a good spec imo dusk, mine is very similar, but i use imp SoR in holy instead of the 5 in 1h specialization

You reckon it makes a big aggro difference having Imp SOR compared to aving harder hits which in turn results in more SOR per attack?

yeah, considering most of the weps you're gonna use are 40dps~, SoR is more dependant on spell dmg than wep dmg

But SOR scales with the weapons DPS.
Higher weapons = higher SOR , that what im finding with my current selection of swords.
My normal one hander (59.6 DPS) does more SOR damage than what my spellsword (42.7 Dps) that is + 56 spell damage.
My normal sword is a lvl 60 sword while the spell damage sword is level 67.

yeah it does scale with wep dps, my point is that it scales better with spell damage, get the consortium blade :D
