I have a problem in that water in our area is throttled back at night. When I say throttled back come 9pm, we have zero water.
If you haven't showered, or done washing etc, then we have to wait until 4am when the pressure normalises.
Nothing unique, quite a few areas being affected by this in Durban.

I am looking at putting a municipal back up in that feeds directly of the mains and keeps water pressure in the house during these hours. Single story 3 bedroom house.
Builders currently have a JOJO pump combo on sale.
750 litre JOJO with built in float valve and connections and pump. - R4500.00

I dont know the brand of the pump, but specs are:
0.37kw / 0.5HP
Max Flo - 40L / min
Max Pressure - 4 Bar

Has anyone bought this combo and using it ?
Has it sorted out your problems ?
Is the pump reliable and suffucient ?
Thanks

The system works fine, BUT, where are you going to get the water to fill it in the first place? Main water or rain water or a combination of both? 750 litres is not going to get you very far ... depending on the size of the geyser.
3 Storey house. Where are the geysers ? In the roof?
Try and get the specs for the pump and check what the maximum lift is.

System designed for short term use of water collect from rain and ideal for watering a garden. Not really to supply water in a home as a replacement for the normal connection. That takes a bit more engineering ...

Hi Geoff, plumbed in straight from the main - no rainwater.
JOJO markets it as a municipal back up.
Three bedroom, single story - not 3 story.
I'm looking to keep water supply in the house from 9pm till 4am.
One geyser at 150 litres.
Bearing in mind, most nights we have done what we need to do before 9pm.

Has anyone bought and used this specific combo ?

Sorry misread you post. 150 l geyser enough water in back up tank. Should work okay for occasional use like that. Personal view is pump is a bit on the small side ...

I have a Speroni pump 800watt 60/l per min with a 45m head and no problem pressurising the system at 4 bar into a a 200l pressure geyser.I just connect the outlet via hosepipe to an outside tap,as and when required. All from a 1000l tank which lasts about 2 days with conservative use for 2 people plus hair salon and self catering flat.
