Hi

I have a 6230i and next week most probably I'm going to have my phone flashed with the latest firmware that has VLive! menus. Now how do I back up my contacts and messages. The images and tones I just transfer onto the MMC and leave it on my PC but I dunno how to back up contacts and messages. Can this be done with the PC Suite software. Don't have a data cable or bluetoooth yet.

Go to nokia.com and download the latest Nokia PC Suite, Install, Connect phone to pc via bluetooth or cable (or IrDA) and use the backup feature included.

...I'd recommend getting a cable [or bluetooth if there aren't any serious bt issues with the 6230i's current firmware] and backing up [test restore as well] with that latest Nokia PC Suite version [for your phone]...
good idea, but won't a test restore overwrite whatever is currently on the phone?
ie if the backup was a dud, you're pretty much stuffed either way! :)

this topic sounds dodge... pointed out to me by a friend (sigh)...

Ok I'm reviving this thread coz I'm most probably going to do the firmware flash this weekend and I want to make make sure about something. I'm gonna get firmware version 3.70 flashed at VodaWorld..I just wanna know if they can flash my phone with the firmware that the VodaFone 6230i's have (ie the 6230i's that have the VodaFone live logo on their backsides). I want to have VodaFone live (my friend told me it's called Data live in the menu) in my menu.
