Backing up emails from the web server side

Hi All,

We are changing from one hosting company to another.
Is it possible to backup the user(email) folder from the old one to the new one(copy and paste)?
The old hosting users Konsol and the new one is Cpannel.
The clients have imap setup on there pcs so when they sync with the new mail server all the emails will be deleted as there are no emails on the new server.
I am hoping i can do this with out having to export and import pst from there pcs.

I don't think you will be able to as konsoleH is closed loop.

Set up their mails in thunderbird
Set up a secondary email account
Move their mails from primary to secondary
Kill primary
Set up new mail on new server
Copy mail from secondary to new primary


That's how I always did it.

So, for what it's worth, cpanel and KonsoleH both use dovecot for emails..

So yes, it's technically possible to copy paste the mail folders between the two but, there are some additional changes that must be made..

I have done a migration from KonsoleH to Cpanel before and successfully moved the mails on this way.. I had SSH access though, so that made it simpler..

For your use case, imapsync as suggested above is the simplest way to go..
