Backing up

I want to format my pc, but I want to back up all me important files beforehand. Specifically BitDefender as I don't want to download all the updates after I format it. Could you guys please tell me where to find these files and if I have to back up just the updates or the whole installation.

Go to the bitdefender website and click on the options to update your anti virus manually, there they will tell you where to place the update files once you manually download them, then go to the directory on your pc at which you are supposed to place the manual update files in and just make a backup of that folder, then when you format, just install bitdefender and copy the backed up folder to the bitdefender update directory.

um, just download the most recent version of BitDefender. The updates from the most recent version should not be too bad.

Thats the problem, I don't want to download , I don't have that much bandwidth so I just want to put my updates on a DVD from my HDD. It's up to date at the moment so I don't want to loose it.
