I guess if you have a solar panel on the roof and a PWM to always charge it then it might work fairly well.I beg to differ, you can design a cheap option that works, just add solar and be amazed just how long your cheap battery lasts.
I tried Lead Acid, moved over to Lithium and never looked back. I did forgot the lithium battery plugged in (during loadshedding on friday) went away for the weekend. BMS cut off the power on Saturday (internet went down). Just charged the battery when I got back and still working perfectly.
