Backup option for personal Microsoft 365 OneDrive

I manage a small company where we all use the personal version of Office 365 with shared folders and each with their own 1TB of Onedrive data.

What would be a good way to backup this if Microsoft goes tits up? Is there a cloud service that can do that?

We all work from home since COVID-19 and we don't have an office any more so not really. Emails backup should be find as can manually export to PST file from my Imap account. But our client files are the real issue.

Ok gotcha, I was going to suggest the synology devices as they have Microsoft backup options but if there is no central and secure office then cloud may be best for you.

FYI I don't think it's compliant/legal to use personal versions for business use, or at least it is a very grey area. Someone can correct me if wrong, but just mentioning it in case. Though, if I'm right, the chances of you being audited are probably slim anyway.

If you did have an O365 Tenant with centrally managed user accounts and assigned licenses, you could use something like Dropsuite to link to your O365 Tenant and back everything up that way. That's how other business would likely do it.

Unfortunately I don't know of a similar solution for personal accounts. Personal accounts are surely silo'd to every individual? So in that case there's nothing I know of that would centrally "link" them all up for backup purposes, it'd probably be a manual process for every individual to manage, and if your users are not tech savvy then it's also a mission to enforce that.

You could try setting up something with Rclone to schedule periodic copies to the cloud provider of your choice and snapshot the cloud storage for recovery points.

I would also suggest looking at the M365 business packages which will give you a bit more control over your company data than the personal editions. Some of the lower end packages like business essentials aren't overly expensive and you get Onedrive, Teams, a bit of Sharepointand email plus some other bits.
