I have Windows machines that need to be backed up to a Ubuntu Server, has anyone got any suggestions on any open source backup software.

you could always:

a) map a drive on each windows machine to a Linux server share (Samba).
b) Schedule a batch file (on windows machine) to xcopy your data from windows to Linux

nice & simple + (kinda) automated.

should work well for <10 windows machines.
won't work "so great" for >100 windows machines

Thanx its about 30 machines.Found one its called backuppc, works nice it backs up share folders and it does Incremental backups which I was also looking for, but still need to test it before I officially set it up.

have a look at rsync. one of the built in commands of most distros. u will have to download an rsync capable program for windows tho.
also, rsync is incremental as well

BackupPC is great. If you have a high speed LAN it's worth looking at.
A nice article on setting BackupPC for Windows and Ubuntu Server can be found here
