The above speed test are what i have been getting from my 2 meg line with telkom. i have phoned both my ISP as well as Telkom and both of them says my line is testing correctly on their side and my ISP emailed the speed tests they did their side and its way above figures i get. Telkom has recreated my port on various occasions without any visible improvements at all.
Can someone please assist and advice as what i can do as Telkom says they cannot log a fault as everything testes fine their side?

I am having the exact same problem and Telkom is my ISP as well, also struggling to get this resolved as Telkom says my line tests fine.

Similar problems here in Laudium (Pretoria). Can't break the 1Mb barrier on a 4Mb line, all was fine last night, speeds dropped this morning.

It was mentioned in a My broadband news letter early in the week about overcapacity of DSLAM's at exchanges and when i asked if they could not shift my line to a less overcrouded DSLAM i was told i have to apply for a new telephone line in order to do that which sounds very wrong to me

Sorry i am technical handicapped so please explain to me where to obtain those figures cause i am totally clueless layman .

You'll need to log onto your router and get the stats from there.

That is nonsense. They can move you to another DSLAM within the same exchange and you'll keep your current number. This is IF there are multiple DSLAMs in the exchange.

That is what i thought as well i was told last year when i experienced lotto of problems, that they had moved me to the latest DSLAM so was quite surprised with their statement.

Amazing that telkom tells their customers that the line tests all fine and they see no problems ,makes one wonder if the call center staff are told what to tell irate customers , than amazingly after midnight is all hunky dory and speeds are all back to normal.
This is my last speed test before bed time.
