Hi,

In the complex where we stay, there is terrible cell phone signal inside the units. Now please excuse my ignorance when it comes to cell phone technology, but is there any device which one could setup that will basically "ripple" the signal from outside the unit into our unit and give us better reception?

Yes there is, you can get it from Vodascum, I know this as they had to install one in my old house. It is a box that connects to a "Yagi" aerial on your roff. You do not need to connect physically, it just boosts your signal. Yes you will probably get brain cancer from the radiation but you will have signal. I managed to get this unit for free.

awesome, i can heat up my food with it as well :)
who did you call to manage to get this sorted out?

Well it took some time as they didnt want to do it, it is very expensive. In the end I spoke to someone very high up there and they had it done. Cannot remember sorry. I remember touching the box in the roof one time, it was hot as hell. Almost glowing :D

No no, that is not the thing i was talking about. The device I was talking about is from Vodacom, it is a repeater. The aerial is a triangular one. You do not have to connect any cabling to the phone.

Yea that enables other vodacom customers so connect to your antenna also, making you a free new mini highsite for voda on your premises. I'd stay far away from that thing, cellphone operators amp the **** out of their stations.

yeah it is called boosting & is done for free - had one installed at our old office in bryanston for free...

The antenna is fine, but that means that the phone has to be plugged into it all the time, which is the same as a normal home telkom phone.

Who do you contact at vodacom to get them to put up a booster?
