Asking on behalf of a friend here. He has an amd 6000+(2mb L2), 2gigs of ram and a radeon HD3850 OC. For the guys who have played BC2, also for those who are currently playing it on a dual core, please let me know how the performance would be. Thanks

here are my specs:

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
4GB Ram DDR2 800Mhz
ATI Radeon HD 5750 (1024Mb 128bit DDR5)

i can run BC2 on high graphics and thats with 1920x1080 resolution. but it runs much smoother on medium and the graphics difference you can hardly notice.
just disable unnecessary stuff like ambient occlusion and put AA and etc on x1.

one thing i have noticed is that it sometimes gets laggy when playing on full servers (32) with a lot of explosions ans etc. but im sure on a lower resolution it should run fine.
i might struggle with your graphics card and maybe even your ram. it all really depends what resolution you run the game at.

P.S if you have an original copy...verify it online then you can use the same cd key on 10 other pc's. that way your buddy can test the game out without wasting money :)

The above dude must be getting like 20-35fps average on that res with that card and ancient Dual Core. Def not what you want when playing MP FPS.

To the first poster, I wouldn't bother getting BC2 with a PC like that, unless "smooth" to you means hardly even getting 30fps with players running around.

lol well he wont be running 1920 x 1080 with a 3850, more like 1280 x 1024. So it would be a waste of time then? I hear so many different contradicting opinions.

wow this man is good :D my own personal FPS monitor! how much FPS will i get with this: AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 - Black Edition CPU - 3.2Ghz Socket AM3 :P

I got a Intel Core2duo e4500, 4gig ddr 2 800 ram and a 8800gt.
everything on lowest @ 1440 by 900
I get about 30fps

I still do well even with such low fps

BC2 is quite CPU intensive. My Q6600 Quad was bottlenecking my 5850 with CPU utilization constantly sitting at 98%-100% on all four cores. My performance was rather crappy and I got about 25-35fps average on 16/8 player maps. 32 player maps was almost unplayable with frames dropping in the low 10's all on medium settings @ 1920x1080. Upgraded since to a 6 core AMD and I now play 32 player maps at 60-80fps all on highest settings with cpu utilization sitting at 50-60% on all 6 cores.

@ penquin - i recently upgraded from a dual core to a quad (Core2Duo e6600 to a AMD PII 965 BE) and on my quad there is no problem running the game...my cpu utiliazation is between 50 - 70 %...how could yours been so high?? i run the game max settings @ 1680 x 1050 , 32 player servers, and i get 80 - 100 fps... ( i do play 99% of the time with vsync on, cause i just cant stand tearing)

@ first poster - i had a Dual core cpu (defualt 2.4GHz , oc'ed to 2.93GHZ) , 4GB DDR2 800, Geforce GTX 8800 OC2 and i also only got about 30-35fps when things went haywire on the server...its not worth it to buy a game just to play it on bare minimum settings...you buy the game to enjoy it, not get frustrated cause you get lag in the menu's... make sure the guy's pc specs exceed that of the recommended, then its gonna be worth it

So it's better to just buy it on Xbox then? Less snipers and less insta dies from peeps with 9999dpi mouses.

My Q6600 was running at stock speed 2.4GHZ. The 965 is running at 3.4ish I think, so you won't have an issue running the game. I think BC2 recommends a 3GHZ CPU.

There was a day and night difference when I went from an E8400 to a Q9400. I only have a 8800GT, but I play on high details and the game runs brilliantly. So rather opt for a quad as a performance upgrade.

Hey guys, i just got back from East London...ended up buying the game its busy updating atm and taking its sweet time too.

My spec are in my sig, you think that will run ok? If i had to upgrade now id die, my credit is so bad people dont even wana accept my cash :(

ROFL @ Handz. Well I read that the E8500 does a fine job in BC2, so I wouldn't worry too much.
