Is there any way to download the updates without actually using the game to do it?
I have been trying for about a week and it keeps crashing.
Surely somewhere the updates should be available for standalone download?

Do you really want to update? Since the update my game has been unplayable. The lag is much too bad.
But I am unsure as to an answer to your problem. I haven't seen any standalone patches.

Nope. The only way to DL is to try and keep trying the auto updater as far as i know. I too kept getting 'corrupt error file' just before the end till it went thrue. I found the first patch as stand alone DL but on those international file hosting sites where you have to pay for it so i just kept trying the auto updater.

Check newshost, that might be for the cracked pirated version though .
