Upgraded PC with GTX 560 and new RAM - it occasionally gave "Display Driver stopped responding and recovered errors" Today it hung completely - restarted and it now BSOD's constantly - ran in safe mode and removed drivers - could now log into normal account but as soon as I load any GPU drivers - BAM BSOD.

Tried replacing nvlddmkm.sys - no luck

Did you re-install Windows or did you just plugin the new card and RAM and let Windows auto detect?

This usually happens if the Graphics Card isn't seated properly. Try taking it out and reseating it again.

Tried this - then computer refused to boot reseated RAM - everything started up including VGA drivers (Before even they weren't functioning) - installed a driver set - BSOD

FFFFUUU.....

Is it perhaps a Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti OC card?
Could you perhaps tell us the exact brand & model that you have, as well as the rest of your PC specs?

What you're describing sounds an awful lot like what Gnome described happened to his eVGA GTX 660's.

Windows 7 64bit
8GB Value RAM
GTX 560 (Non ti) Gigabyte
Corsair 650watt TX

Can't remember mobo off hand

This sounds like a problem a guy at work had 2 years ago.... He also had Gigabyte GPU, and Intel mobo. His pc would freeze/BSOD/reset itself at least twice, every single day. Tested/tried/replaced everything. Only thing that worked was putting a different (non gigabyte) GPU in.

Well a bit stuck now - do I send it back to takealot? Not sure what further testing I can do.

Meh just sending back - don't know anyone in CT with a PC decent enough to handle the 560 -
