Hi all,

I placed a order with ZAStore on Wednesday for a macbook (Which was in stock). Yesterday i checked the website and the order was approved. When i phoned them this morning, i was put on hold, transfered about 4 times and eventually the guy who helped me then told me to hold on another 10 min and then said sorry they will only ship on Monday due to that fact that they must first confirm my identity and bla bla bla before the bank hands over the money. Why did i pay by credit card in the firts place ? This is really a pathetic way of gaining customers. Last year i ordered a ipod and it was delivered the next day.

Anybody else had a similar experience ?

regards

Gerrit

no, but thanks for the warning, u should buy ur stuff at apple store way better services there.

Sitting in Bloem. Fuming at the moment. Think gonna cancel the order and drive up to Joburg and get one. At least i will have it today !

I'll admit, begrudgingly, that I've had better than expected service from zastore recently.

That is very annoying. I would phone and ask to speak to management and demand an answer (But do it politely, otherwise they will not care)

Lol still not gonna help. I will only get my macbook on Monday. I think they run through a call center, because the staff does not sound very well informed about the products etc. O well, let's hope my apple experience gets better once i get the computer.

If you're still thinking about taking the drive to Jo'burg, I was in Cool Apple Buddy in Sandton yesterday, and they had just got a stack of macbooks in.

I guess price will win people over, and ZAStore are always cheaper.
You get a similar experience at the Waterfront Apple Centre. When the boss is busy/out/away the monkeys take over and you get bananas. Avoid Saturdays and always ask to speak to the boss when spending serious money.

Well i suppose that is the level of service we gonna start getting in the future. Send them a email as well this morning and it is now 16:45 and still no reply. Proudly South African !

all my ZAStore experiences sucked. i only buy from Digicape when in South Africa now.

i have to say though that my bad experience with them in the past was due to the higher up 'technical person'. i had a problem with my power supply that i initially wanted tested along with my machine but was dismissed. a month later after sending it away to JHB and having me sit without my then new machine did the power supply issue come up.

advice from me is to always buy from stores that do their own repairs. where you can speak to the guy working on your machine face to face

my last apple purchase was my Macbook pro that i got from the 5th ave apple store. all the issues i have had with the machine were resolved either in Helsinki or here at Digicape.

If the machine bought from the Waterfront had to go back, it would have been shipped to ZaStore.
