plenty of times,
case 1:
girl I know,chatted to me all the time,shared personal details,would actively seek my company,act all flirty etc
I asked her out,she said "wtf where`s this comming from?"
I said nvm and left it at that

case 2:
another girl I know,similar as above but more personal and explicit in questions and discussions
point blank asked if I`d date someone like her and if I find her pretty
I lied and said yes(in the interest of my own survival)
fortunately shes frendzoned me and keeps yapping about how awesome her boyfriend is.

but yes, i have from both sexes, have had my friendliness mistaken for being flirty
