Bad weekend weather knocks Eskom's network

Severe storms and high winds wreaked havoc on South Africa's electricity supply over the weekend, resulting in power disruptions on Eskom's network in several provinces.

In a statement on Sunday, 28 December 2025, the power utility said that ongoing adverse weather conditions had led to a sharp increase in faults reported across its network.

So these wood pylons that are so old and rotten you can't even tell they were once tarred, fell over in some wind?



Also, instead of building fences around each pylon every time they steal a bit of it, and then steal the fence, why not add that money together and burry the line.
