BAH! BB Bis keeps dropping.

For some reason, Bis (little blackberry sign next to 3G) keeps dropping for no reason.
Facebook, email and BBM are offline...
Help please.

my gf got the same problem, only calls are getting dropped too
after about 30 seconds they just disconnect, longest call was 1:26
no bis, internet etc

anyone know hot to sort this out? ppl at the call centre are clueless

Well it happened again tonight.
For no reason bis just dissapeared and only had gprs.

Phoned vodacom anf she told me to go register now under the devise settings etc.
Still didnrt work after a pull...and then now all of a sudden it works again.

I always recommend that people switch their BB's to 2G only and only put it on 3G if they need to download a big file or something like that. BB seems to be more stable on 2G, and battery will last longer. Having your phone on dual mode can also cause more dropped calls and degraded voice quality.

How do you switch a BB to 2G only? Or maybe more importantly where do you switch between 2G and 3G? On a Torch 9800.

Go into "Manage Connections" then scroll down to "Mobile network options" and then you will see "Network Mode"....there you can set it on 2G Only, 3G only or 2G & 3G. Set it to 2G Only.
