Coach of the year shortlist:

Heynckes and Ribery for me.

Heynckes and Messi for me. Bayern's team was absolutely epic last year, they played as a unit. No stars. And therefore I don't think a single player deserves the award.

Messi on the other hand is a goal scoring machine. And he assists.

agreed

Joke of a list IMO...

I don't see why people always complain about the list. People have different opinions. I, for example, don't like Robben, I think he is one dimensional and that Ribery is a far more complete player. If I were in charge of the list, I may have left him out. But you may disagree. Just like the people drawing up the list. Unless you watch every game, of every player on that list, I really don't think you can comment negatively.

You'll have to tell us why.

Most of the players and coaches listed are there more on name than merit, and a heap of players and coaches that really deserve to be there, have been excluded.

Don't ever take things like this seriously.

I don't. Just wish that FIFA would reward the less fashionable coaches and players more often.

So a player like Jackson Martinez, ranked fifth for last season's Golden Shoe ahead of the likes of Ibrahimovic, Suarez, Lewandowski and RvP, should be omitted? He is just one of a number of players excluded, with "superstar" players and coaches picked over ones who should be there on merit.

I do hope that Ribery and Heynckes win the awards, though.

Is it ever not Messi not matter what anyone else does

Ronaldo with 62 goals in a season and the LaLiga title couldnt win it

Don't forget his form with Portugal vs Messi's form with Argentina.. .

Hope Ronaldo wins it this time. Still believe he's the overall better player compared to Messi. And at least the team doesn't need to be structured specifically to suit his play.
