Seeing that the issue was raised in another thread, but went slightly of course, a few questions for information purposes - please don't hijack the thread to settle scores :)

1. Is there a "legal" requirement to have bandwidth measurement processes audited? By whom are these requirements set? (Surely it should be part of ICASA's licensing conditions!! Anything is possible though...)

2. a) If so, how regular must these audits be done?
b) If not, does iBurst voluntary have such audits done, and how regularly?

3. If audits are done, who did iBurst contract to perform them?

The questions are aimed in getting information on the processes in place for the protection of "Joe Soap not to computer literate" on the street.

Let me get the proper answers for you tomorrow.

Or you can also ask Dominic for comment.

Thank you for raising this issue.

If not do you think it should be done?

Thanks Jannie - it is better to commit such info rather to a file than to memory.

In general people with a nuts&bolt background (like you and me) have a difficult time remembering the details of such legaleze:) It is a waste of grey matter memory space

lol that sounded VERY tounge in cheek - if it wasn't, sorry :D

So far I've not been able to find any regulations that govern this. ICASA / CPA does not seem to address it. Will look further.

Many thanks Jannie!

I hope I did not open a can of nasty worms with my questions :-)

I actually did not expect ICASA to attend to such an issue - they don't seem to be able to do anything decent and are just running up court cases.

Would this not perhaps be covered in Corporate Governance (King)? Ok, King won't state you shall audit this and that, but it would rather be something like Good Coporate governance would require processes to ensure the integrity of all systems...

Regards.

PS: There is a Latin saying something like " who will guard the guards?" At some point in time, one has to trust somebody in life.
