Hi there

In November I switched my service provider from Axxess to SAOL. I was more then happy with Axxess but unfortunately the price for the 10gig account was double then Saol. However, I noticed something strange, I seem to run out of bandwidth faster then ever. I especially minimized my downloads (before Nov I had a 30gig account) but the bandwidth just seem to go and go and go (I have 5 gig left for the month !!…)

Is it at all possible that something is wrong at the Saol side. They claim its impossible but I wonder.

Any ideas??

I suggest you sent an email to abuse@saix and tell them about the problem and they will do an investigation.

When they are happy with the results they will send you an email stating whether the connections were all made from the same line or if there were concurrent connections on your account. They will post you the results.

Good luck, ... I have gone that route before with Telkom and yes someone was using my connection.

Also change your password on a regular basis, you can do it on SAOL site.

And in future monitor you usage more often, if the tool Saix Stats Analyzer worked with SAOL I would say download it.

Go to the SAOL site and log into the customer zone. Check to see if the session history makes sense. I've had no problem with SAOL fiddling with my bandwidth on either of my accounts so I doubt anything shady is going on from their side.

Lol just give them 6 or so months to analyze it.

I use a 10 gig SAOL account and I find their usage stats web page seriously lacking in basic information like session dates and daily usage figures. Why don't they allow access to the SAIX stats like the other SAIX reseller ISP's?

Ask Soal if they can restrict your acount to 1 login per sesion, and also change your password. Also check your pc for spyware/viruses and make sure you have a firewall running.

afaik SAOL 10gig is limited to 1 concurrent login?

Change your password like previously mentioned and this will solve the problem.

/doc.

stop blaming the porn.exe file download which secrectly sucks your bandwidth

your a porn freak who blames saol for his 10 gigs going to strip shows :)

Get a bandwidth monitor like DUMeter and monitor your bandwidth yourself.

i feel the same thing man.... i just seem to user more bandwidth on my saol account

Check this out....my usage stats for December from the SAOL website:

Date Port No Caller ID No Medium Login Time Logout Time Session Time Data Out Data In
01 ********** ADSL 14:12:27 14:12:41 1 day 21.667 Mbytes 40.793 Mbytes
02 ********** ADSL 14:13:37 14:13:35 1 day 11.678 Mbytes 28.543 Mbytes
02 ********** ADSL 14:13:41 14:13:35 1 day 11.678 Mbytes 28.543 Mbytes

02 ********** ADSL 14:13:46 14:13:35 1 day 11.678 Mbytes 28.543 Mbytes
03 ********** ADSL 14:14:49 14:14:59 1 day 2.456 Mbytes 304.214 Kbytes
Total Logins: 11 11 days 129.221 Mbytes 297.976 Mbytes

The multiple logins on the 2nd is just plain wrong...according to my server logs the session that used 11.678 MB up and 28.543 MB down was disconnected, had an authentication failure on the first reconnect and then connected fine on the second reconnect.

This is uncool.

A comment from SAOL would be appreciated here ..

Why does the Saix Stats Analyzer work with all the ISPs and not with SAOL? Raises suspicion if you ask me ...

So SAOL make it work .. as simple as that ... there are a few unhappy clients here ....

No raVid it took, if I remember correct, about 3 days for them to reply to me ... :)

Hello guys, I think you would get a better response emailing your queries to [email protected]. The responses on these threads are mostly speculation, and if you really want to get to the bottom of the problem, speak to the right people.

This forum is for this sort of thing, we asked for a comment from SAOL so why not make your comment relating to this here?

Why wait for hundreds of emails relating to the same thing?

We would like to read your comment right here Marko.

Fortunately we haven't had hundreds of complaints regarding loss of bandwidth.
This seems to be an isolated case, and as such, needs to be dealt with in the appropriate manner. If we were discussing a general topic, I would be more than happy to enter into the fray, but in this instance, I feel that more can be achieved if the person in question contacts us with certain details.

How can we know what has caused this situation without having any details to go by? You want fact, or speculation?
