Hi, I'm a new user who doesn't have broadband yet, but I'm looking to make an informed choice on the right type of broadband for me. This is where you come in!!!!

I'm wondering about my broadband use and whether I should get a capped deal. I'd like to know how much bandwidth it takes to download, on average. I realise that there is no set number, for example a film could be one and a half hours of three hours long, but can someone give me an outline on the following:

- A single
- An album
- A film
- Live streaming of a World Cup game
- Online gaming

I realise that's asking a lot but if anyone can give me any info on how much bandwidth it would take to download each of these I would be really grateful.

Thanks a lot. :)

3MB is a good size for a single song
3MB x 12 would be average for most CD's
A film is usually 700MB.
Live Streaming of WolrdCup that can be alot, not sure exactly what, but depends on bitrate, if its decent quality you are looking at alot.
Online Gaming
- World of Warcraft - approx 4MB - 10MB per hour
- CSS - about four times that

- WELCOME TO MYADSL! :D

A Cd in MP3 format 60 - 140mb
A movie encoded with DIVX 700mb - 1.4gigs
Online gaming depends on the game.

Wow that was quick!!!!

Brilliant... thanks a lot everyone!!! I really appreciate your feedback. I look forward to putting more questions your way in the future. Thanks.
