Bandwidth usage feed...

Does anyone here know if iBurst has an XML feed for the bandwidth usage?

I've come across an extension for FireFox that shows your remaining usage, but it needs an XMl feed from your ISP...

Ja, this would be great.

Then we could get a similar app to that SAIX badnwidth analyzer made for iBurst. The website is usually pretty slow when it gets to bandwidth checking and its never up to date unless you reset. Maby they could kill both problems with some service like this?

Is there a seperate / loose sort of bandwidth meter one can get???
One of our iBurst users are getting very weird usage reports.
Last month their usage was almost 5Gbs, what is weird is... it is mostly up!
+- 4.3Gb upload, 700Mbs down.
This month it is only the 10th, already more than 1Gb up, about 180Mbs down.
They mostly use for e-mails (normal size, mostly incoming), browsing, and some online gaming (not much at the slow speed).
But even with gaming the up&down should be similar?
They can't figure out how the up usage gets so high.
I'd like to have an 'indipendant' bandwith usage meter on the pc to check if iBurst meter is correct. The connection is off during the day / when they not using internet.

mmm, personally I have had a few cases like that with clients on ADSL, where the computer was infected with spyware/trojans/DDoS and since there was a DDoS (distributed denial of service) client, it was trying to kill what ever target it recieved. this could be where all your bandwidth is going...

Ja, upload bandwidth sounds like a virus sending info out. Run the usual anti virus/spyware apps.

but mostly install NetLimiter now, it tells you which program exactly is using bandwidth and you can block it from accessing the internet, something must be killing your upload stream. It will also tell you when its happening of course and you'll be able to delete the culprit most probably.

they've got latest Symantec Antivirus, up to date defs.
When I was there to have a look, I connected, and once webpage loaded, all quiet, no moves up or down.... so, strange, maybe its busy in the evenings, when they are on.
but could a virus be sending so much **** out? what is there to send
Once they hit the 3Gb cap, on throttled service, I couldn't understand how they still manage to send out 300megs in the few hours in the evening, on the 64kbps speed.
but I'll try this netlimiter, to see if anything funny in the background.... could also be why his speed shows up so crappy.

get two apps. one is BW Meter ( you need to buy or crack it) and another is netLimiter (need to buy or crack that too )

with Netlimiter you can actually determine what is using bandwidth, great for finding any nasty trojans or whatever.

BWmeter is a very accurate BW usuage tool and simple to use.

There is a free version of NetLimiter which has limited, but sufficient, features - it's not that accurate though. I also recommend it for tracing suspicious activity. Process Explorer from www.sysinternals.com is a good companion utility to help identify what programs are causing svchost.exe activity.

Instead of BWMeter (cracked anyway), get NetMeter - it's free. Ignore the fact that it hasn't reached version 1.0 yet - it's extremely stable in my experience, and does the same as BWMeter.
